Flash Apps available on the iPhone!

This page provides students with instructions on how to prepare for installing Adobe Flash Air for iOS applications on to a compatible iOS device such as:

iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S, 5, 5C, 5S, 6, 6+

iPod Touch

iPad 1, 2, 3 (the new iPad), iPad 4 (lightening connector), iPad Air, iPad Mini 1, 2

The aim of this page is not to give a lecture on how to develop iOS applications in Flash, but instead provide the latest files required to publish to iOS from Flash. For those who are interested in publishing Flash applications for iOS, please read the following instructions carefully.

Instructions

1. Send an email request to Zayd Junglee with your iOS device’s UDID.

IMPORTANT: THE DEVICE YOU REGISTER MUST BELONG TO YOU AND NOT A FRIEND .

2. Allow up to 48 hours for the teaching team to update the relevant files needed for publishing out to iOS.

3. Wait for your name to be updated in the table below for confirmation that your device has been added to the list.

4. Download the zipped package.

5. Sync both .mobileprovisioning files with your iOS device via iTunes (File –> Add to Library –> Browse to locations of files –> Sync). You can check if they have been successfully sync’d by going to Settings –> General –> Profiles (at the bottom), on your iOS device. Two certificate files should be listed as verified .

6. Publish out your application from Flash using either developer files (i.e. browse for the correct files in the “Air for iOS Settings” in Flash).

Tip: You will be using the ios_developer.p12 and ios_developer.mobileprovision and sync with iTunes.

Note: you must find one of the teaching team to be told the password for the certificate files. It will never be shown or given out on the Web.

7. Drag the IPA into the iTunes Apps Library and sync your iOS device to install.

IMPORTANT: THE LECTURE COVERS ONLY HOW TO INSTALL AN IPA VIA ITUNES (I.E. USE DEVELOPER FILES)

8. As of Flash Professional CS6 updates of the Adobe AIR 3.3 SDK – debugging via USB for iOS is now available (hooray!).
