Estates and ICT Maintenance weekend (3rd-4th Jan ’15)

Just a reminder about the scheduled University Estates and ICT Maintenance weekend on the 3rd and 4th January 2015. It is likely that there will be severe disruption to all University online systems on Saturday 3rd, and potentially also on Sunday 4th January. This will effect access and usage of all online University systems (Moodle, Student Records online, basic network and print access, online library systems).

It is advisable to plan your work appropriately around this period with this weekend in mind. Please do not leave assignment work to the last minute……

Cheers

New A0 Poster Printer in Park Library

If you haven’t seen it already a new A0 large scale poster printer was purchased and installed in the Park Library reception area in November. If you have any group work to do and would like to produce some good quality posters then why not try the new printer.

It is connected to any of the PCs or Macs in the library reception area. If you would like to use it ask library staff at the service desk for more information.

Cheers

Scan to Me – New Service!

Not sure if you guys have seen it yet but the Libraries and ICT Services have worked together to roll out a new service which enables students to scan documents from the MFDs (printer/photocopiers in the libraries) and have them sent to the University emails accounts.

More details at http://insight-dev.glos.ac.uk/departments/lis/news/Pages/Scantome.aspx.

Your Friendly Faculty Librarian….

ACM journals database – now available off-campus!!!!

The popular full text computing journals database ACM Digital Library is now available both on and off-campus. This should help improve access to key journals online.  Rather than having to use computers in the library or labs you can access titles in the comfort of your own home…..

Access through the Resources – Online Databases link from the Library homepage.
