Gloucestershire Lifestyles need a web site redesign

GlosLifestyles

The current site is http://www.gloslifestyles.co.uk/   They require a CMS so they can easily edit the content, and easy to navigate website for people with disabilities to use.  Wordpress might be the ideal platform for this with a custom theme using “doors” as the navigation theme for the site whereby users can click or the doors and be redirected to the relevant page. In terms of Aesthetics they would like to use blues similar to how it is currently and clear writing to make it easy for people to use ie: accessibility and SEO are important.

They can afford to pay: £150 Contact Simon (si-carr@hotmail.com)

Research for designing a skiing app

Level 5 Multimedia and Games Design students undertook research for a Ski App they are developing as part of their studies. To help understand what skiing is all about they had a Ski lesson on the dry slope in Gloucester. Grasping the pain that skiers go through every time they put their ski boots on was an important part of the day.

Great weather for our research trip to establish the ergonomic issues with mobile devices and skiing!

After we’d taken off those agonising ski-boots we all looked quite cheerful, even poor Chris with the ice-pack after a contretemps with the ski-tow! Nina remembered that she goes skiing regularly – every 20 years!

The tutors, Nina, Paul & Lewis, joined in by taking part in the activity as well! The best Ski App’s will be displayed at COMX14 on 1st May 2014. See http://comx.glos.ac.uk for more details.

Induction 2013 Video Tasks

Three groups of students embarking on the new Level 4 Multimedia Web Design course were asked to create a short photo / video movie on the theme of  Into The Unknown… during induction.

Equipped with digital SLR cameras, HD Video Cameras, various audio clips and powered by the mighty Microsoft Windows Movie Maker(!) – each group had an hour and a half to create a movie sequence.

Watch  the results and give your comment on what you think of them! Click the thumbnails to play the video.
