COMX Poster printing reminder

COMX15

Just a reminder that we have the large AO large scale poster printer available to use in the Park library. The printer is located in the main library reception area near the enquiry desk.  It is connected to any of the PCs or Macs in the library reception area. If you would like to use it ask library staff at the service desk for more information. The cost is £4.50 per poster.

Just don’t leave it until the last few days to do the printing. Last year some groups left it until the last minute and ran into problems. More support is available during the day than evening so please plan ahead…..

Cheers Darren, your friendly Faculty Librarian. Smile

Estates and ICT Maintenance weekend (3rd-4th Jan ’15)

Just a reminder about the scheduled University Estates and ICT Maintenance weekend on the 3rd and 4th January 2015. It is likely that there will be severe disruption to all University online systems on Saturday 3rd, and potentially also on Sunday 4th January. This will effect access and usage of all online University systems (Moodle, Student Records online, basic network and print access, online library systems).

It is advisable to plan your work appropriately around this period with this weekend in mind. Please do not leave assignment work to the last minute……

Cheers
Darren, your friendly Faculty Librarian.

New Library Books Update

Book update
To give you a broad idea on what we’ve purchased since May 2013 the Library has ordered

  • over 140 new print titles not copies,
  • more than 50 eBooks (mainly from Dawsonera),
  • scanned chapters or sections from over 30 textbooks for you to use via your modules on Moodle.

Many of these are new titles to reading lists that your lecturers updated through the Summer.

If you’d like to see a listing of what we’ve ordered then let me know or have a look at our LibraryThing account to get a snapshot of some of these items. Also if you come across any titles that we don’t have in the Library or think would be useful please either email or your module tutors.

Cheers
Darren, your friendly Faculty Librarian.
